When it comes to the health of your child, we know you don’t mess around. baby bottle tooth decay, a sickness impacting the teeth of children 6 and below, can leave your child with rotten teeth, gums, and bones; in the most serious cases, teeth can even be lost and permanent harm can be done to the gums and bones. At Desert Foothills Dental, there are a few things we can do to make sure that your child’s teeth will stay as strong as possible, even if they’ve had a bout with baby bottle tooth decay.

As with most oral services, the care possibilities will differ depending on the age of your child. Dr. Brent Pulley will work closely with you to put together the perfect plan for your child. One of the first things they may recommend is to diminish the amount of sugary sweets in your child’s meal plan; sugary foods are the playground of cavity-causing bacteria that eat away at teeth. The dentist may also recommend giving your child an enamel-strengthening fluoride treatment and/or prescribe fluoride supplements to boost your child’s first line of defense against cavities. Finally, the dentist will suggest helping your child brush their teeth twice daily and floss their teeth once per day.
